55% of us read at or below a 6th grade level. 22% are illiterate. Democrats do not seem able or are reluctant to communicate with the functionally illiterate folks. They are not stupid just illiterate. This level of illiteracty exists in spite of Jonathan Kozol's excellent writing sounding the alarm in 70s. Got a plan? I wish Independents would fform a real party. Maybe that would help.
